Turn the Page to Spring
Whatever your current weather (we are getting a blizzard this week!), I can’t think of a better way to celebrate spring than by bringing fresh flowers into my own home! There’s something about the bright colors of the spring season that instantly lifts my mood and makes everything feel fresh and new.
And while I love an elaborate floral arrangement, I also believe that sometimes the most charming and beautiful centerpieces come from the simplest ideas.
That’s exactly what happened with this spring centerpiece—a mix of grocery store fresh blooms, a unique decorative container, and a little creative styling that turned into a stunning centerpiece for my kitchen island.
Celebrate the Season!

The Spring Container That Stole My Heart
You know that feeling when you see something and just know it belongs in your home?
That happened to me with this perfect vessel—an open container featuring a row of sweet little lambs, standing side by side in the most adorable way. I spotted it in one of my favorite boutique shops while on a trip.
I told myself I would think about it as I shopped…and then forgot about it!
Of course, once I left the store, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. You know how that goes, right?
A little research later (thank you, online shopping!), and this charming bowl was ordered and on its way to me. You can see it HERE.
In fact, it was sitting on my doorstep before I even made it home from my trip! That’s fate, don’t you think?
With my decorative container in hand, I knew exactly what I wanted to do—create an easy spring centerpiece that would bring a touch of whimsy to my kitchen!
Gathering My Supplies
For this simple centerpiece, I didn’t need much—just a few basics:
- Open container or flower vessel – My new favorite lamb container is the perfect way to showcase spring colors. But you can use any vase, bowl, or spring-like container!
- Grocery Store Flowers – My supermarket bouquet is a  mix of daisies, carnations, and a few mystery blooms (I wish I knew their names, but they were just too pretty to pass up!).
- Florist Foam – To keep my spring arrangement in place and hydrated.
- Scissors or Floral Shears – For trimming stems.
- Water – Because fresh flowers need to stay happy and hydrated!
Creating the Floral Arrangement
If you’ve ever wanted to make a pretty spring centerpiece but thought it would be too complicated—this is as easy as it gets!
Here’s how I did it…
Prepping the Container
I started by cutting the florist foam to fit snugly inside the lamb bowl, then soaked it in water until fully saturated. This step is key to keeping your fresh blooms looking vibrant for days!
Pro Tip: To fully saturate your florist foam, drop the foam into a bowl of water but do NOT push down. Rather, let the water seep into the foam on its own.
Trim and Arrange the Flowers
Before adding the flowers, I trimmed the stems at an angle (a little florist trick for better water absorption). Then, I started with my largest flowers—daisies and carnations—placing and sticking them evenly throughout the foam.
To create a full, lush look, I tucked in my smaller mystery blooms, making sure to vary the heights for visual interest.
I wanted this floral centerpiece to feel natural, like a little spring meadow!
Adding the Finishing Touches
To bring everything together, I placed the entire arrangement on top of a wood cutting board on my kitchen island. I love using cutting boards in vignette ideas because they add warmth and texture!
Then came the fun part—styling the space around my spring centerpiece.
I wanted to add some natural elements to create a more organic look, so I grabbed a handful of green moss to place in front of the lambs.
This turned out to be the best way to give my little lambs a playful touch—they now looked like they were grazing on fresh grass!
How cute is that?
This centerpiece is also functional!
I added some charming plates, copper measuring cups, a salt cellar and a bowl of lemons behind the centerpiece.
Even the backside of the sheep is cute!
More Spring Centerpiece Ideas
If you’re looking for more spring centerpiece ideas, here are a few of my favorite ways to create a beautiful display with minimal effort:
- Mason Jars & Fresh Flowers – Fill mason jars with your favorite spring flowers for a casual, farmhouse feel. Perfect for the dining room table… or even simply placed by the kitchen sink!
- Clear Glass Vase & Floating Candle or Flowers – A clear glass vase filled with water and a simple floating candle or fresh blooms is an elegant yet simple centerpiece idea. I created a “near clear” DIY crackle glass vase that is perfect for a spring centerpiece display. Click HERE for the project details.
- Easter-Inspired Arrangements – For a festive touch, tuck in colorful Easter eggs or place your spring arrangement alongside a cute bunny figurine. Perfect for an Easter table or Easter brunch!
- Small Vases & Floral Prints – Scatter a few small vases with coordinating spring colors along a table runner for a soft, romantic look on your dining table or dinner table.
- Faux Flowers for Long-Lasting Beauty – Not a fan of fresh flowers? Go for faux flowers in vibrant or pastel colors for a cohesive look that lasts all season!
Simple is Stunning
I love how my simple spring centerpiece turned out—not only does it bring a festive touch to my kitchen island, but it also makes me smile every time I see those little lambs “grazing” in their mossy meadow.
This is proof that you don’t need expensive flowers or fancy materials to create something special for your home. A spring tablescape can be as simple as fresh blooms in a decorative container, styled with love!
The best way to decorate for spring? Have fun with it! Whether you’re arranging flowers from your own garden, picking up a bundle from the store, or trying out new floral centerpieces, the key is to let your personality shine.
