Sonata Script Issue # 21 – Trips, Projects + One Room Challenge Update
Giving you a peek into the past week for me and Sonata Home Design. The week in review, my favorite finds on the web, and just a little “this and that.” I always want to give you great ideas, inspiration, creative motivation, light bulb moments, and a hearty “You can do it!”
I know I am not alone in my passion for home decorating, crafting, and nesting. So, please join me each week for this creative Saturday jolt!
Happy Fall, my friend!
It has been a while since I sent out a Sonata Script so I thought I would give you an update on what’s been going on behind the scenes around here.
Whenever I write one of these, I always try to imagine you, my friend, sitting at my kitchen island with a cup of coffee (or tea!) as we chat about this and that.
To that end…I want you to have a coffee on me! Read on down and grab the the gift card code for a free coffee! (First come, first served until its gone.) Let me know when you have used it by posting a comment at the bottom of this post. ENJOY!
This Week’s Hustle and Bustle
I feel like I have spent more time on the road than at home the past few weeks!
New York City
Autumn in New York City is magical!
And spending time with one of my daughters was the best!
Having a daughter live in the city, I have seen and done many of the landmark sights multiple times. So this trip was all about spending time together and relaxing together!
Any trip to NYC includes a trip to the Balthazar bakery. My purchase always include my savory olive bread, sweet cranberry pecan bread, and my favorite decadent pastries.
Don’t worry…I don’t eat it all at once!
Waco
Home for 12 hours and then off to Waco, Texas for the Achieve Conference!
The Achieve Conference is an amazing conference for bloggers, content creators, and influencers.
It is a chance to reconnect with friends, meet new people, and learn new ways to share content in ways that work for YOU, the reader!
Plus, it’s a chance to shop at Magnolia!
One Room Challenge Update
We are into week #3 of the Fall One Room Challenge and progress is being made!
Click HERE to see the beginning photos of the room and the mood board for its makeover design.
The TV room that I am giving a makeover is a small room but the task list is long. The grey walls are gone and replaced with a light canvas white paint.
I also painted the French doors that connect the room to the living room. A combination of paint and new door knobs made huge impact in giving these ho-hum doors some character!
You can see the French door transformation HERE.
Bentley
Whether sleeping from the sofa…
observing with vague interest…
or right under my nose trying to figure out what I’m doing…
Bentley has definitely been my project partner!

Something’s Coming!
I have a BIG project in the works!
One that has me jumping up and down.
And climbing a ladder.
And using up a roll of painter’s tape.
I want to tell you so badly…I think I might burst!
But I promise that it is coming soon and I can’t wait to share it with you!
Stay tuned!

What a wonderful few weeks! Time in the fall with your daughter, Achieve, Magnolia and home…sounds perfect!
We did have a lot of fun! Have a wonderful weekend, Leslie!
Wow! What fun, Missy!!! I enjoy your blog so much, and I marvel at your accomplishments! I’d love to stop and see you sometime on my way to Nell Hill. I’ll take you out to lunch!😊 I’ll let you know when I’m in your neighborhood. Happy Fall and thanks for all of the inspiration!
You are so sweet, Stacey! I love seeing you with your beautiful family on social media and am reminded of all our fun times that we shared a “few” years ago! Reconnecting is always a good idea…especially when shopping at Nell Hills is involved! LOL! Wishing you an amazing Fall and hoping to meet up soon! Sending hugs your way! (Give your mom a hug for me too!)
That’s what I love about your blog: it feels like you’re talking directly to me! ❤️ Thank you for the coffee! I got an iced pecan oat latte which is one of their Fall flavors! Yum!
Ooh! That sounds delicious! I think I need to try it!. Thanks for hanging with Sonata on a fall Saturday morning!
Fall in NCY looks amazing! I visited several years ago for work, but it was after peak foliage season. I can’t wait to go back someday and see New England and the northeast when all the leaves are changing.
And can’t wait to hear all about your fun trip to Waco.
I have so much to share with you!
Missy,
Sounds like you’ve had a great month. I love NY and Waco. Wish I could have attended Achieve this year. Thank you for sharing my tray makeover. You are the best.
You are so welcome, Rachel! I would love to see you in person again at a conference!
Thank you so much for sharing! I didn’t quite get the memo and do one room haha I did my whole basement! My husband found a roll off dumpster near me and that was helpful. I am glad you had the best time. Much love!
The “Whole Basement Challenge” should be a thing! LOL! Thanks for stopping by!
The NY pastry looks incredible. I would give anything to go to WACO, lucky you. Visiting from Thursday Favorite Things.
Hi Amy, I had waited for years to get to Waco and loved every minute that I was there. I hope you can get there sometime. It is so much fun!
